7 Reasons Why Ink Master Is The Best Reality Television Show

Ink Master is about halfway through its 6th season on Spike and its success is no accident. The show manages to capture everything that reality television should have.

The most important aspect of a tattoo based show is the art. Throughout the seasons, as artists participate in different challenges to demonstrate their mastery of various techniques in the industry, the audience sees some truly breathtaking art work.

2. Beautiful People

Many of the the contestants on ink masters have been studying their craft for decades. They are able to create truly beautiful work. It makes sense that people dedicating their life to make beautiful art are also beautiful people.

3. The Canvases

They usually aren't that bad, and you feel bad for the artists when they have to work with a nightmare, but it makes for some entertaining television.

5. The Judges

Chris Nunez, Oliver Peck, and Dave Navarro make terrific judges. They are not like Simon Cowell, who sometimes seems like he wants his contestants to fail so he can make fun of them. Instead they give blunt, and honest, reviews of the artists' work.

6. The Rivalries

It's always more fun to watch a skill based competition when competitors are mouthing off to one another. There are so many rivalries on ink master, and I guess in the world of tattooing, that season 5 was titled Ink Master Rivals. It had 18 contestants, each of whom had a pre-existing rivalry with another contestant.

7. The Drama

It is such a competitive show, and the artists are all usually very talented, so you do not know who is going to be going home on any given episode. Sometimes the most talented artists falter when they are taken out of their element or given a poor canvas.The insecurity of your favorite artist's fate makes the weekly show an addictive habit.
