    Another Reason To Quit Spotify

Spotify was everything Pandora was not. Who could say no to listening to anything -literally anything - whenever you wanted to? $10/month for unlimited access comes with more strings than you would think.

Spotify. A music streaming application available through Facebook gave users the ability to create custom stations like Pandora; but, unlike Pandora Spotify offers thousands of songs, artists, and albums that users can pick and choose from. Rather than "like music" based on one song/artist, you can listen to all the music from one artist and put that one song on repeat if your heart so desires. There are still ads, but for $10 a month, you can have unlimited access which removes ads and allows mobile access to your music.

Don't want to subscribe anymore? Good luck with that. The process of cancelling your subscription isn't quick and painless...as most people would prefer. Nope. You have to go through several steps on their website to even get a request sent

Once you finally get through each step, a Spotify rep contacts you for further information regarding the reason for cancellation.

I recently attempted to cancel my subscription, and thought it was over and done with after receiving emails indicated my request had been received. I was wrong. My second inquiry received a curt response informing me that because I did not reply to the feedback email, my account was left active. Since when is feedback required to cancel any paid service? If I wanted to offer a review, I would.

    Customer Service at its best.

    Um, excuse me?

    You cannot be serious.

I didn't think I was the only one that Spotify took advantage of - stole from - so off to the BBB site I went. What I found were pages and pages of similar complaints. Unable to reach customer service, unanswered inquires, cancellation requests denied, refusing to offer refunds in cases similar to mine, and so on and so forth.

    Playing dumb: the ultimate defense.

    Customer Service? What's that?

    Sorry, no refunds.

    Keep trying, you fool.

The endless steps that users have to navigate through to get any sort of customer service is almost genius. Confuse & inundate seems to be their MO, and it works. Artists are taking a stand against Spotify, and people are starting to jump on board. But Spotify is fighting back, and their game is dirty.

Logged in but still not "authorized" to cancel.

Bottom line: Spotify's game is dirty. How this is a legitimate business practice I'll never understand. I will be waiting for the inevitable class action lawsuit against Spotify. But for now, I will just have to tell Adam at Spotify where he can put his "best wishes".
