This week started off slow for the meme world. With so many busy being spoooky over Halloween Weekend, meme production was slow. However, recent additions and changes to Twitter format prompted a wave of new memes. Along with the recent spate of twitter memes, trending memes such as good shit continued to play out over the weekend. Here's the breakdown.

The "that's some good shit right there" meme (pictured below) underwent a new mutation this weekend as memers celebrated the transition from Spooktober to Christmas Season. We're unsure how long this meme will continue to proliferate, but I must say I'm enjoying it so far.

The Poot Lovato Meme seems to have finally run it's course, with Demi publicly speaking out against it. However, a few mentions of it continued over the week with one Youtuber even offering a "Poot Lovato Halloween Costume Tutorial". While personally I hope no one went that far, who am I to stop the memes? Hopefully this one has played itself out and will retire to the meme graveyard where it belongs.

Hotline Bling

Hotline Bling vines and photo manips were big on Twitter this week. Some of our favorites include Tennis Bling, Pizza Rolls Bling, and the unbeatable Costanza Bling. My personal favorite? Ellen's spin on Hotline Bernie.

Donald Trump also attempted to boost his image within the millenial crowd by joining in an SNL spoof of "Hotline Bling", but it did little to warm my heart.

Hamilton the Musical

The Hamilton cast soundtrack has stirred up quit the fervor of memes both in the musical theater and hip-hop communities, particularly on tumblr. Notably, the Broadway phenomenon was mentioned on SNL last night, solidifying its presence in popular culture.Also, an appearance by writer and lead actor Lin-Manuel Miranda on Jimmy Fallon in which he freestyled and impressed everyone.

The Hamilton meme consists of inserting lyrics from the show into everyday conversations, often to humorous effects. A culture has also sprung up around the creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, who is photoshopped, drawn, and memed quite often. Crossovers between Hamilton and other musicals and media is common.
