I'm not sure what compelled me to read stories about Harry Styles but I have and lots of them. Don't get me wrong there is some well-written fan fiction out there but more often than not, I am met with bizarre scenarios and even weirder stories that can only possibly happen in a world far, far away from reality.

I have never in my entire life read, heard or seen a statement more ridiculous than this. Whatever happened to lightly kissing the cheek and the innocence of a first kiss. Romance is thrown out the window, when you make something as simple as kissing seem like an extract from a war novel. But apparently that's all Harry Styles does. *sigh*

2. Throwing your coffee on Harry Styles can make him fall in love with you.

If I had a dime for every time a girl dropped her coffee on Harry Styles and he fell in love with her, I would buy myself a private jet and pay a visit to Harry myself. The "bad boy meets good girl and isn't bad anymore" cliche has been repeatedly written about in books. Not only have we read about it, we've seen it in movies and heard about it in songs. But Harry Styles fan fiction takes this cliche to a whole new level. The misconception that if he treats you like dust, he really does love you is constantly emphasised in these stories.

He just cheated on you? Oh, right, he loves only you.

He just shattered your self esteem? Oh, right he loves you.

He just stalked you to your house and threatened you to go on a date with him? He loves you, silly.

5. Always (pretend to) hate the band you actually are secretly in love with.

Although, Starstruck is a literal representation of what I am talking about. A little summary if you're not planning on watching it: Two sisters - Sara: absolutely in love with a pop star way out of her reach and Jessica: a sarcastic girl tired of her sister's constant affection for someone she does not know. Fast forward to Christopher Wilde (said pop star) and Jessica (girl who hates him) being stuck together. *stuff happens* They end up together. (yay.)

Hence, even if your sister, best friend or mother buys you a FREE ticket for a One Direction concert, pretend to hate them. Scientists state, Harry Styles will fall in love with you.

6. If the nerd is named Marcel, date him.

I am not under any circumstances discriminating against any kind of person(s) neither am I stereotyping. By nerd, I simply mean a person who is studious. If, people with high IQs and a 4.0 grade point is not your cup of tea, be aware. Studies have shown that a nerd named Marcel will turn out to be hot, successful and rich - Oh, and his name will be Harry Styles.

7. Harry Styles doesn’t have hair, he has a mop of curls.

Never describe Harry Styles' hair in any way other than a "mop of curls". That is how we refer to the holy hair - got it? Write it down right now, it's Harry Styles 101.

8. Invited on a world tour? Forget about family and friends and say Y-E-S.

A little summer of what I have learnt: If Harry Styles asks you to come with him on tour, you say yes. So what if you met him five minutes ago in a Starbucks; so what if you're in school trying to complete your education; so what if it's the middle of the year and you'll be expelled; so what if you're 17 and your parents will obviously say no. None of that matters because honey, Harry Styles has asked you to go on tour with him. Forget about family, friends and life, you GO.

9. A job advert with no description? Take it.

This one, again, might need some explanation. If you ever find a mysterious job advertisement online with no description whatsoever and it seems like a bad idea that could only possibly get you kidnapped or worse - take it. Chances are it's Modest Management looking for an assistant (baby-sitter) for their out-of-control pop star Harry Styles; he will hate you at first but eventually fall in love with you. Even greater chances are they're looking for a "fake" girlfriend to better the reputation of the same out-of-control pop star in which case, the falling in love will happen at a much faster rate (because you will be forced to live together - of course.)

10. Boxing match in the high school gym, ‘cause why not?

This one sadly is not plausible because Harry doesn't go to high school anymore. However, if he were to, he would be on the (not so) secret boxing team that compete in boxing matches in the middle of the gym that are totally illegal.
