Three People Have Died After A Car Hit Pedestrians In Doncaster

    A fourth person is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following the crash on Boxing Day.

    Three people have died after a car struck pedestrians in Doncaster on Saturday night.

    Two women, aged 53 and 54, and a man, 59, died in the crash on Sutton Road in Askern, South Yorkshire police said.

    Another man, 56, is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    Police said a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.

    Officers have appealed for information relating to the crash.

    "Police are asking for your help after three people were killed and another man critically injured following a collision in Askern yesterday evening," the force said in a statement.

    "At around 11pm on Saturday 26 December, it is reported that a blue Volvo S60 and four pedestrians were involved in a collision in Sutton Road, at its junction with Manor Way, Askern."

    Those involved in the crash have not been formally identified.
