2. Ever notice the icons that appeared as you got closer and closer to being connected? It directly relates to how your life passed you by while waiting to be online... first your a single, happy, yellow dude; next thing you know your rushing through life to finally reach the point where you had a full blown family! No exaggerations that's how long it seemed to get online.

(Okay some exaggeration but not by much)

3. Phone Line Ties

3. When your mom picked up the phone and heard a loud buzzing tone which forced you offline right when your crush and you were passing the "What's up?..NM" phase.

4. Buddy List Catergories

4. Buddies, BFFs, Guys, Dolls, Dudes, Dudettes, Peepz, Geeks, etc. the amount of categories we created we might as well had a separate category for every single person.

5. Profile Wars

5. Every girl took complete pride in their profiles. From font choices, to -;- *~* doodads, to relatable song lyrics every girls profile was an artful masterpiece not to be replicated. If you ever stole a profile layout or design you were labeled a "biter" and to hell with you missy. Whether you realized it or not you have undeniably created a profile war.

6. The Right Away Message Meant Everything

6. Away messages were like the early day Facebook Status' because they meant way more then we led on. It was either a sappy quote to mend our broken hearts or to show off that you were having a sleep over at Chelsea's house but nonetheless your away message had to be up. God forbid someone couldn't leave you a message!

7. Robots We Loved To Hate

7. We all loved messing around with the AIM robots that gave automatic responses. A classic was, of course, Smarterchild. The reasons why we talked to them we may never know.

8. You know you entered into a chatroom when you were young and completely lied about your A/S/L*?
