Human Pheromones - Fact Or Fiction? Here's What We Found...

Pheromone perfumes and colognes are a growing "thing" in internet world, where guys spray on synthetic pheromones in order to attract women (or men, if women are using them).

    But is it for real?

"Most guys who find pheromones are usually sucked into it with outrageous advertising, promising them instant, endless amounts of women chasing them. Fact is, it doesn't work like that. If you're an unfit nerd, who dresses poorly, and has no social skills, they might make you perceived as slightly more attractive than you are. But they will not change facts - you still need to put in work. They only work to give you a social, romantic, and "status" boost, if you are congruent with that signal".

But is there any scientific evidence that they work?

"We tested the effects of androstadienone at a speed-dating event in which men and women interacted in a series of brief dyadic encounters. Men were rated more attractive when assessed by women who had been exposed to androstadienone, an effect that was seen in two out of three studies. The results suggest that androstadienone can influence women's attraction to men."

Regardless, pheromone colognes seem to be a trending hot topic online, especially considering "pheromone parties" are becoming a novelty dating idea too.
