10 Irrational Thoughts Of A Cry Baby

Today is the day I get the sutures out of my lip. Naturally, my brain decides this is the perfect time to make some speculations and play the what if game.

The section of new lip is awfully white. I don't want to gross anyone out but it looks like a super pruned finger.

    What If:

    1.

My doctor takes the sutures out and that section of lip just falls off because it's actually dead or didn't like its new area.

    2.

Maybe the reason the middle part of my lip is still swollen is because there's something that got infected and it's growing...like inside.

    3.

A layer of skin comes off when the sutures are taken out.

    4.

My face is scarred forever. This one is actually not that irrational. It's very likely.

    5.

Getting the sutures taken out actually really hurts and everyone has been lying about the mild pinch/tug.

    6.

He needs to redo the surgery because the healing went horribly wrong.

    7.

The lip line doesn't match the rest of my lip and I have to have another surgery except my insurance definitely will not cover any part of another surgery because it won't be considered necessary or an emergency. Okay, this one's not that irrational either.

    8.

My stomach rejects real food and I'm stuck on a liquid diet.

    9.

I can't feel the new part of the lip.

    10.

My lip is infected and the infection has spread to my face and on toward my brain and turns me into a zombie.

    Okay, I'm gonna stop there.

    Have a nice day!

    :D

P.S. I know I was very fortunate to get a really good surgeon who just happens to be in facial plastics as well. He was an artist with my lip and I know the entire surgical team did their best.
