"Succession" Season 3 Will Not Include COVID, And The Reason Why Is A Little Infuriating — But Not Wrong

    She's not exactly wrong.

    Right now, the TV world is on the edge of its seat, waiting for the highly anticipated return of HBO's Succession.

    With Season 3 dropping on HBO in October, the show's stars are starting to speak to the press with tidbits of what fans can expect to see when the Roy family comes back to the screen.

    So far, we know that Season 3 will see Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) stepping up his battle for control over his father's media empire.

    Likewise, COVID-19 will not be addressed in Season 3. There are a couple of reasons why. For one, show creator Jesse Armstrong wrote the latest season pre-lockdown.

    Actor Sarah Snook, who plays Shiv Roy, also offered some context in an interview with Vulture: "These are really wealthy people. And unfortunately, none of the world's really wealthy people were going to be affected by the pandemic."

    Production on Succession Season 3, of course, was delayed last year due to COVID.

    The show's star Brian Cox (who plays patriarch Logan Roy) also contracted COVID, though he said he claimed not to feel "anything."
