The Quran Look at this picture. What is it? It is a picture of Quran. What is the Quran? The Quran is the book of Allah. Each word of the Quran is the word of Allah. The-Quran How was the Quran revealed to Prophet Muhammad (P.B.H)? Allah revealed the Quran , piece by piece, through the Angel Jibrail (A.S). Jibrail passed on Allah’s words to Muhammad (P.B.H). Muhammad (P.B.H) asked his companions to write down exactly what Jibrail told him. Many of them also memorized the Quran. How long did it take to reveal all of the Quran? The Quran was revealed over a period of 23 years. Has there been any change in the Quran? No, there has been no change in the Quran over the last 1400 years. Why has the Quran not been changed? The Quran has not been changed because Allah protects it. Nobody can change it. Allah says that He has sent it and He shall protect it. “We have, without doubt, sent down the Dhikr (the Quran) and surely We will protect it (from being changed)”. (Surah 15, verse 9) What is the language of the Quran? The Quran is in Arabic. The Quran is a wonderful book of guidance. Its rhymes and rhythms are beautiful. Reading the Quran gives us comfort, peace and happiness. The Quran tells us how to be good and to give up bad habits. It tells how to behave with our parents, brothers, sisters, friends and neighbours. Allah Says in the Quran: “Be kind to your parents and relatives and the orphans and those in need, and speak nicely to people.” (Surah 2, verse 83) Allah has asked us to read the Quran and follow what it says. We should learn to read the Quran and understand its meaning. We will be happy and successful if we obey Allah’s commands which are in the Quran. The Quran is the last and final book of guidance. O Allah, The Merciful, guide us to the path of the Quran.
