I used to adventure on my own, but that was before #MackTheAdventurePug told me about his passion for adventure.
He spent puppyhood jogging the sands of Venice Beach and it was here he developed his capacity for hilarious suffering.
As he grew up, so too did his love for the mountains.
When your expedition team bails because they think reaching summit at sunset isn't possible, he pugnaciously accepts the challenge.
With every trip, he reminds you to appreciate how far you've come.
He's a responsible hiker and takes care of himself.
He feels strongly about wasted food.
And he does everything he can to make sure we never leave food behind...
...including thoroughly inspecting his skin folds.
He's even excellent at sniffing out food on the trail.
He is a strong advocate of early bedtime.
He's excellent at keeping pests out of the tent.
And he's ready to hike when most people are still sleeping.
He never leaves an adventure partner behind.
He has a keen sense of direction when it comes to finding summits.
He's a lover of nature and the environment.
And he loves a good sunset.
I mean, he really loves a good sunset.
He tolerates clothing for harsh conditions...and treats.
He's driven.
He's athletic.
He can assume an aerodynamic profile for quick ascents.
He never takes unnecessary risks.
If he's tired by summit or the descent is too steep, he fits conveniently in the MackPack for a ride down.
He knows when it's a day for rest.
He's not above waving hello to you on the trail.
He makes a great lap warmer.
He's loved by many, but never gets a big head.
He never puts himself on a pedestal.
Narcissistic? He doesn't even recognize his own reflection.
To top it off, he is a loving and selfless friend.
He's always excited for the car ride home.
But he remains ready for adventure at the drop of a hat!
And although his appetite for summits is insatiable...
...he still enjoy a post-adventure day at the beach.
