24 Tracks To Listen To On Your Way To [10]

So you just roasted a huge bowl and you're looking for something to listen to. Maybe you're looking to keep smoking all day and hear some weird shit. Maybe you're into something else, who knows, I'm not here to judge you. All I know is that there is surely something on this list to suite your tastes, even if you're tasting bitter. You'll notice Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and Cypress Hill are all missing from this list. I wanted to give you something that wasn't so obvious, so here you go!

    1. Nicolas Jaar - Encore

Nicolas brings us a portmanteau of hip-hop-house-jazz-minimalism together to deliver a unique sound that is simply unmatched.

    2. Bonobo - El Toro

Picking just one song to feature from Bonobo was tough and purely subjective. But subjectivity is the whole point, right? A true master of his craft, Bonobo features rich layers of sampling from all eras and vernaculars.

    3. Ratatat - Shiller

Shiver + Chill. That Ratatat sound is unmistakable. Who needs lyrics when music speaks to you like Ratatat's does? It's like their slicing open your soul and showing you the inners.

    4. Lil B - Frankie Silver

Lil B probably has more tracks to his name than any recording artist ever. This particular track just has a sick beat with Lil B spittin it raw on top.

    5. GangStarr - Above The Clouds

You really can't go wrong with Preemo on decks. Great sampling, great lyrics, great overall track... overall. RIP Guru

    6. Kendrick Lamar - Hiii Power

Kendrick spit hot fire over the chillest beat of his to date. Not one his most popular tracks, but in my humble opinion, his most noteworthy.

    7. Richard Davis - Others

As a YouTube user said, "This song equates to the recognition of music's ability to love itself." I'm not sure what it is about this song but the electro/americana/twang sound is absolutely devine.

    8. Lemon Jelly - Nice weather for Ducks

This track, and pretty much all of Lemon Jelly's work, is seemingly made for people who are stoned... or something else.

    9. The Avalanches - Since I Left You

A note to pop music producers: This is how you sample. Just try listening to the full album without thinking your high.

If you don't have 14 minutes to listen to the whole thing, wait until you do to listen to it. Brian Transeau takes electronic music to a whole new level in his Genre-bending album, "If the Stars are Eternal So are You and I". And his "dubstep" drop is like a big fuck you to all the brostep producers out there. His textures are simply amazing.

    16. Younger Brother - Psychic Gibbon
