'The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics' was initially a book written and illustrated by Norton Juster and first published in 1963. This itself was inspired from a novella named, 'Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions' written by Edwin Abbott Abbott in 1884.

Lucky for us, MGM Animation decided to adapt this story onto the big screen* in 1965 and never was a love story told in a more passionate manner.

The film begins with the protagonist, Line, falling madly in love with Dot. She on the other hand seems to be unaware of his existence.

And so begins the most enriching, enlightening and pure love story ever told.
