From wildfires in Colorado to Hurricane Sandy, from food deserts to corporate agriculture, from contaminated water caused by fracking to contaminated air caused by pollution, young people are looking around their communities and seeing the impacts of an un-just energy system and climate change.
And this October at Power Shift 2013, we are standing up together to say ENOUGH. We are joining the Dreamers, the Dream Defenders, and countless other movements led by young people to begin to rebuild together. And we're going to have the time of our lives doing it.

1. When you are on your campus/community, it can feel isolating! But when you walk into Power Shift 2013 and see 10,000 other young people who are as passionate and committed as you, you remember who runs the world.
2. Power Shift 2011 was pretty great. But since then, we've stalled the Keystone XL pipeline, launched hundreds of divestment campaigns, and stood up to big polluters across the world.
3. But climate deniers across the country continue to stand in the way of us taking real action on climate change.
4. While others stall, young people are coming together to share innovate solutions - from clean energy development to energy efficiency projects - that reduce carbon AND build community.
5. You will meet so many new friends, and you will love them immediately and forever.
6. All over the country - including Pennsylvania - hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") has been causing chronic health problems and contaminating drinking water.
This year, Power Shift will be in Pittsburgh - the first city to BAN fracking within city limits.
7. You can't help but be inspired by movement leaders and keynote speakers, including Kim Wasserman, Josh Fox, Phillip Agnew, and Bill McKibben.
8. Party with your new friends at the always legendary Power Shift concert.
9. Prepare to have your mind blown when you attend one of the hundreds of panels, trainings, and workshops hosted by partner organizations and leaders from across the world.
10. Meet the people you've been spent hours preparing for Power Shift through conference calls, Skype, and gchat... IN PERSON!
11. Create campaign plans in issue and state (and non-state! #dc) breakouts that you will work on long after Power Shift.
12. Take it to the streets of Pittsburgh in the Monday Action - sending a clear message to the fossil fuel industry that we're not going to wait for someone else to stand up.
13. And when you get back from Power Shift, the Fossil Fuel Industry better be prepared...because you're ready to take them on. And win.
