Excuses Are Tacky.

There are times where you come up with great ideas but coming up with a reason not to pursue it, take action or follow through is easier. When the motivation doesn’t take its turn we have this ability to justify why it isn’t possible - and the whole ‘if its meant to be, it will be’ - That’s that stupid saying we tell ourselves and I eventually hated telling myself so I started to slay.

I learned over experience that making excuses was just a form of laziness. There are times where you come up with great ideas but coming up with a reason not to pursue it, take action or follow through is easier. When the motivation doesn't take its turn we have this ability to justify why it isn't possible. We start telling our self that we are being realistic, smart or responsible for not venturing further. And eventually the 'if its meant to be, it will be'. << That's that stupid saying we tell ourselves and I eventually hated telling myself so I started to slay.

Someone's probably already thought of it..

It seems difficult

I don't think I'll have enough time for it

Not sure if I am inspired enough?​​

Don't think I have enough finance..

It seems tiring

I think I have a few years before I start

I've past my age for this

It probably is a stupid idea since nobody has thought of it

I don't think I have the expertise for this

I don't have the credentials

Probably going to fail anyway

I can't be juggling too much

Too much is at risk

I do not have anyone to support me

Nobody around me is working this hard, nor should I!

Not sure where to start?

There is too much competition..

Nobody see's what I see..

The timing just isn't right..

The economy just isn't right for me

There's just too much to do

I hate planning things

Which leads to – can't I find someone to do it instead..

And this list keeps unending. Eventually nothing happens as these excuses keep revolving around us. But what I have learned over the last few years that these excuses are not reasons, they are in fact hurdles that might take you to your end goal more efficiently. I've learnt to use these excuses to my advantage. How? I made them my form of research. For example if I think there is too much at risk, I draw out a SWOT analysis. I weigh out my options and then see what can be done to eliminate these risks. We can only succeed when we stop telling ourselves why we can't, and start living the life that shows – Yes, we can!

I am in a place in my life where I find excuses tacky. I start loosing confidence in someone when they have an excuse just because it shows they do not want to put in that extra effort. Especially if someone represents a brand, there is nothing more incredible then showing you care enough to your consumers. At times I am asked to perform something extremely outside my comfort zone so I make sure, no matter what the request is, I ask for some time so I can look into my options, put in the research before I get back - Because if I know better, then I can do better. Take the time to comprehend on what ideas and opportunities you come across and give it the real effort it deserves.

Stop making excuses. Desire greatness. The dog DID NOT eat your homework.
