Shit Got Weird At The Conservative Convention

You know it's a party when an MP dressing up as the Grim Reaper isn't even the weirdest part of the night.

It had been, frankly, a pretty boring few hours of speeches on Day 2 of the Conservative policy convention. Then this happened.

It was a segment where MPs came out to present their visions for the future.

That's Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu, who came out dressed as the Grim Reaper and opened her speech with the words "doooom and glooom." People were confused.

like did she bring a Grim Reaper costume to the convention or did someone have to go get one for this or https://t.co/PcdvWKwf7G

    This can't be real... https://t.co/ggPnoUjFE6

@pdmcleod @MatthewP57 @LoopEmma You sure it is not a niqab?

Man, I make fun of Canada basically constantly, but Canadian politics are LIT https://t.co/rfEqGpD5Tf

Gladu was having some fun with the idea that the Conservatives are doomed after losing the last election. A few moments later she cast off her costume and started dancing because hey, you know what guys, things aren't that bad.

Then not a minute later there was this.

Conservative MP Arnold Viersen proposed that the Conservative leadership debates should be done via rap battles. He then helpfully demonstrated to the audience what rap is.

By far the whitest thing I've seen today. https://t.co/vdeQza3xbA

"How do you do, fellow kids?" https://t.co/ViynpQdLqW

@pdmcleod Harper would have never allowed this to happen.

There's still another day to go in the Vancouver policy convention. It's hard to see them topping Friday night, but at least we know that Tony Clement is having fun.
