The officer was stabbed while responding to complaints of antisocial behaviour in east London on Sunday night.

A Metropolitan police constable is in a "serious but stable" condition after being stabbed on Sunday night in east London.

The Met said in a statement that two officers were responding to reports of antisocial behaviour at 11:30pm on Sunday.

There had been complaints of a moped being ridden outside Bunsen House (above), off Grove Road in Bow. The officer was stabbed in a nearby car park and taken to a local hospital.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder shortly afterwards and charged on Tuesday morning.

He was due to appear at Stratford Youth Court on Tuesday.

The boy hasn't been named and no other arrests were made.
