It's polling day in some kind of big vote-type situation that you may have heard something about in the last six months. It is, I'm sure you'll all agree, very important.
But as people make important decisions about the future of the universe or some such, rest assured that legions of people are mercilessly taking the piss out of the democratic process on the internet.
Twitter's quite jokey again today. I like it. Bit whistling in the dark, but I still like it.
For example, here's Leave voter Keith Adams. He says he took his 93-year-old mum to the polling station this morning.

Little did Keith know that this tweet would unleash an EU meme mountain as people on Twitter came up with their own "93-year-old mum" tweets.

This morning, "Keith", "93yr mum", "took 93" and "my 93" were all trending on Twitter. It all got a bit out of hand.

The 93yr mum meme started to collide with other Twitter memes from times past, bewildering everyone who doesn't look at the internet all day.
Footballer Paul Gascoigne has arrived at the scene, saying he is a friend of Keith's 93 year old mum.

It remains to be seen whether Keith's mum will have any bearing on the outcome of the referendum, however.

But there was a twist in the tale: Keith was tweeting back in April 2015 that his mum was 91, casting doubt on the whole story.

Then, later on Thursday, former prime minister and Remain campaigner Tony Blair earnestly held up this card and probably thought what could possibly go wrong?
Well, Twitter. Tony Blair has tweeted a picture of himself holding a white piece of card. I'm sure you'll behave.
And even that wasn't safe from the Keith's mum meme's clutches.
UPDATE
As he promised he would, Keith Adams has written a blog post about the 93-year-old mum incident.
He says the incident really happened but admits he exaggerated the cheering bit.
