17-Year-Old Boy Is 15th Teenager To Be Stabbed To Death In London This Year

    Police named the boy as Gary Scott, from Tottenham. In total, 19 teenagers have been killed through violent crime in the capital this year.

    A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in north London, making him the 15th teenager to be killed through knife crime in the capital this year so far.

    On Thursday morning police said they were confident the boy is Gary Scott, from Tottenham, although formal identification has yet to take place. His family have been informed.

    Met police said they were called by the London Ambulance Service, which attended a reported stabbing at 11pm on Tuesday on Marquis Road near Finsbury Park station.

    Scott was taken to a central London hospital where he later died.

    There have been no arrests so far and an investigation from the Met's homicide and major crime command divisions is underway.

    A post-mortem takes place on Thursday at midday.

    A total of 11 teenagers were murdered in London in 2014, compared with 19 this year so far.

    Police have asked anyone with information about Tuesday's attack to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

    Police also said on Tuesday that they have charged someone with the murder of 17-year-old Vasilaki Kakko, who was stabbed in Holloway, north London, on 23 November.

    Uchechukwu Ejimonye, 20, from Holloway, is charged with Kakko's murder and possessing a blade. He will appear at Bromley magistrates court on Wednesday.
