After a particularly icy winter storm blew through the Mid-Atlantic on Monday, one University of Maryland student started a Change.org petition in an attempt to convince university president Wallace H. Loh to override the decision to open at a two-hour delay on Tuesday. The response was quick, with the petition reaching 8,000 signatures. While the petition didn't convince President Loh to change his mind, it did give those supporting it a chance to express their reasons why they thought the university should remain closed in some very creative ways.
