It's no secret that if a houseplant enters my apartment doors, it will soon meet its untimely end.
No houseplant deserves to die young, and I — along with all the non–green thumb folks — deserve a home filled with thriving greenery.
So, this is where you — the plant expert — come in. What are your tips and hacks for keeping a houseplant alive?
Mind you, I know that each individual plant has its own special instructions, but if you have any broad advice, that would be best.
Perhaps you know it's best to repot your plant as soon as you bring it home from a nursery.
Or you know that this new pot absolutely needs a drainage hole to prevent root rot.
Maybe you choose a specific type of plant based on the amount of sunlight it'll be able to get in your space.
Or perhaps you prevent your houseplants from getting lopsided by spinning them around so they get an even amount of sunlight.
