A list of the best Vintage Clothing shops to be found in Manchester's most affluent fashion area.

5. Vintage

Located on Oldham Street, this shop is by far the biggest Vintage Clothes shop in the Northern Quarter. There are hundreds of brilliant items, all lined up ready to be picked out. Our personal favourite items are the retro football shirts, which are all available for very reasonable prices. In fact, this is probably the best of the shops in this list to pick up a bargain.

And if this wasn't enough, the shop boasts and impressive display of non-clothing vintage items, from football memorabilia to records and paintings. This shop does exactly what it says on the tin.

4. Come and Worship

Anyone could be forgiven for completely missing this little gem. Inconspicuously tucked away next to a cafe just metres away from the aforementioned 'Vintage' shop, this is a fantastic treasure chest of vintage clothing. It has a great selection of denim items but where it really excels is in its choice of vintage shellsuit jackets.

If you are in the area, make sure you go and worship, you won't be disappointed.

3. Blue Rinse

Don't let the name fool you, this isn't a hairdressers for the elderly like you might have thought. This is a goldmine for vintage clothing, and pretty much everything 90's. With rap legends Mos Def and Nas pumping fully out of a ghetto blaster, this place has a distinct hip-hop flavour, witnessed in its variety of basketball jerseys, Tupac-style bandanas and Jordan sneakers.

This place has to be the closest you can get to what it was like in Brooklyn during the Biggie years without actually time travelling.

2. COW

Probably the people's favourite, COW is an absolute must for any vintage clothing enthusiast. Popular amongst students, it recently relocated to Church Street in the Northern Quarter after spending many years in the heart of Piccadilly Gardens. The move has proven to be the correct decision, as anyone who has been to the new place will agree it is quite breathtaking. Although the groundfloor is impressive, it is the bottom floor where the shop really stands out amongst the crowd. A huge open space, with simple light bulbs illuminating it makes it feel like more like an artists studio than a clothes shop. From jumpers to one-off shirts, leather jackets to fur coats and blazers, you could spend large amounts of both time and money in there. Simply, no trip to the Northern Quarter is complete without a visit to COW.

1. Bags of Flavor

'Don't judge a book by its cover.' Never has a saying been more appropriate. Despite its humble shop front and location opposite an adult shop, overlook 'Bags of Flavor' at your peril. It has the most stunning pieces in the whole of the Northern Quarter, and although the prices are a little more than others, the items are well worth that bit extra. Buy from here and you are guaranteed to be the only person with it; every item is carefully selected and chosen on both its rarity and quality and for that reason it is at the top of our list.
