As any parent with young kids knows- children's shows are a special form of torture. The unending will they won't they of Skye and Chase. The confusion of why it's called 'Ryan's Mystery Play Date' when he always seems to know who it's going to be. The sad realization that everyone in your household is developing a British accent from 300 hours of Peppa Pig- it's all too much! So when the rare opportunity arises that your offspring are into something that doesn't make you want to jam LEGO pieces into your eyes and ears, it's a moment to be savoured. Out of all the crap we have watched, there is one show that has made me actually want to pay attention- 'The Octonauts' on Netflix. I didn't know how dumb I was until this program came along. The Octonauts are a mismatched team of animals that explore the world's oceans. Each episode educates viewers on various aquatic species and I have to say, I am a little embarrassed about how little I knew. Here are 7 facts I learned/ways the public education system failed me. Enjoy!
