The 17 Coffee Shops Within Walking Distance Of SU

Explore all the different coffees that Seattle has to offer, all within walking distance of Seattle U! Some are great for studying, others for socializing, and the best are the ones with prime people watching seats. These are in no specific order. What's your favorite coffee shop in Seattle?

1. Cherry Street Coffee

This is the closest to campus, a hop-skip-jump away from Seattle University Park. Good coffee, good internet, good food, good study environment.

2. Bauhaus Books and Coffee

First things first: this is strong coffee. If you're looking for that punch-in-the-face taste, this is the place to go. Strong coffee, fast internet with a funny password, and plenty of study spaces.

3. Seattle Coffee Works

Right next to Pike Place Market on 1st and Pike, this place is a hidden gem of Seattle. Top in the nation, this coffee shop has incredible roasts, multiple brewing methods, and plenty of seating to people watch. Best in Seattle.

4. Porchlight Coffee & Records

Nestled between some new restaurants on 14th and Pine, Porchlight is an open and friendly place to come study. Great coffee, friendly baristas, warm study spaces. A must-try.

5. Caffe Vita

We all know about Vita. It's a great place for socializing, studying, and people watching. The coffee's pretty good and the internet is sufficient. Great place if you're not feeling ambitious to try somewhere new.

6. Stumptown Roasters

Also very close to campus, Stumptown has unique roasts that can be appreciated by the highly sensitive tongue. Their small tables and open windows allow for a continuation from the shop to 12th avenue, making this place an ideal location for people watching. Now is a great time to sip on one of their famous Cold Brew.

7. Fuel Coffee @ High 5 Pie

High 5 has delicious pie, everyone knows that. Their Fuel espresso, however, is also quite appealing. Their single-shot espresso is a great and rich balancing act to their sweet apple and marionberry pies.

8. Kaladi Brothers

This delightful coffee house, found on your walk downtown via Pike, offers incredible coffee and espresso. Drop in and grab an iced coffee to sip while you walk to Pike Place! Not the best study area, but a great place to hang out and people watch.

9. Victrola Coffee Roasters

If you didn't grab an iced coffee at Kaladi, keep walking down Pike and stop at Victrola. Victrola's iced coffee, and coffee in general, is lighter and has more vibrant undertones. Incredible spot for studying, and delicious coffee.

10. Tougo Coffee

Up on 18th, Tougo has a calm study area and decent coffee. This is more of a place to study than enjoy fine roasting.

11. Caffe Ladro

Caffe Ladro, located in a few places (15th, down Pike by the Paramount, and again on 1st and Union) has different study environments but consistently delectable espresso and drip coffee. They specialize in espresso, which makes sense because their mochas are INCREDIBLE.

12. Espresso Vivace Alley 24

Obviously you're not going to be studying at this coffee kiosk, but their espresso and people watching are both 10/10.

13. Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tastery Room

Crazy, hectic, tons of people, lots of coffee, plenty of brewing methods. Their Reserve coffee is surprisingly tasty. People watching is prime here.

14. Analog Coffee

Cute place, good coffee on Summit and Thomas. What's not to like?

15. Storyville Coffee Pike Place

GO HERE. The coffee is incredible, the place is adorable and sophisticated at the same time, and the atmosphere is such a beautiful juxtaposition with the crazy market below it. It's hidden, though, so look for the sign with the dancing girl right before the market entrance.

16. Broadcast Coffee

Right before the freeway walking down Pine, Broadcast is a fun shop filled with good coffee and good music. Their coffee is delicious, and their Wifi is really fast.

17. Roy Street Coffee & Tea

A homey place with comfy couches and chairs, a nice environment, and a diverse selection of coffees and teas. It's "inspired" by Starbucks, which can seem confusing but just means that Starbucks has opened a local coffee shop with local roasting.
