World's First Mayan-Language Telenovela

    It's called Baktún, and it's a groundbreaking new soap opera out of Mexico -- because all the characters speak the indigenous Mayan language. The show, which is subtitled in Spanish since there are only around 750,000 Mayan speakers on the Yucatan Penninsula, is seen as a big step forward for the preservation of Mayan culture.
