Tumblr App Considers 'Gay' And 'Bisexual' As NSFW As 'Sex' And 'Porn'

Try searching "gay," "lesbian," or "bisexual" in Tumblr's iOS app and your hunt will come up short. Even though those words are fairly common in LGBTQ online communities, the mobile app blocks them the same as it would "porn" or "sex." Users had feared stronger regulation on the platform since Yahoo!'s acquisition in ___, but the restrictions actually come from Apple themselves. Tumblr's website and Android versions remain unfiltered.
