Tibetan Festival Unveils Huge Embroidered Buddha Painting

    Tuesday marked the beginning of the Shoton Festival in Tibet and sacred "sunning of the Buddha" ceremony. As part of the 17th century tradition, an embroidered painting of Buddha is unfolded over a hill. The festival is considered one of the most important on the Tiebtan calendar and celebrates the completion of meditation retreats for monks.
