Extreme Texas Abortion Ban Blocked In Day-Long Filibuster - By A Dem!

Texas Senator Wendy Davis completed a 13-hour filibuster to block a bill that would close 37 of the state's 42 abortion clinics by requiring that providers have admission privileges at area hospitals. It would have also banned all abortions after 20 weeks. The bill needed to be passed by Tuesday at midnight, when the special session of the Texas Legislature ended.
