7 Million Students Will Now Have To Pay Double The Interest On Their Loans

    The deadline came and went on Monday for Congress to stop student loan interest rates from doubling. Students taking out Stafford loans will now pay a 6.8% interest instead of 3.4%. With Congress breaking for the July 4th recess, an additional vote on the issue will have to wait until July 10.
