It's time to dust off your Keftas and get some waffles, because Netflix announced today that Shadow and Bone has been renewed for Season 2.
The cast shared the news with fans in this adorable video, and I'm just so happy we get to see them play these characters again.
According to Netflix, Shadow and Bone was viewed by "more than 55 million member households" in the "first 28 days" when it hit the streaming platform back in April.
"I've been writing in the Grishaverse for nearly 10 years now, so I'm thrilled we get to keep this adventure going," Leigh Bardugo said about the show's renewal.
"There are so many places we've barely gotten to visit, and I can't wait to introduce our audience to more of the saints, soldiers, thugs, thieves, princes, and privateers who make this world so much fun to explore."
If you're a fan of the books, like me, you're probably waiting for some key book characters to make an appearance in Season 2, like Nikolai and Wylan.
Speaking to BuzzFeed earlier this year, Leigh Bardugo hinted at Wylan appearing soon, saying, "All I can tell you is if we're lucky to get a second season, you will not be missing Wylan for long."
And I'm assuming Nikolai won't be far behind, considering it's pretty safe to assume that Season 2 will pull a lot of story from Siege and Storm, the second book in the trilogy.
Also, since Season 1 featured a lot of prequel for our beloved Crows, the next season could finally start to pull stories from Six of Crows.
Just like Season 1, Shadow and Bone Season 2 will consist of eight one-hour episodes as we continue to follow Alina's journey.
Basically, I am already so pumped for Season 2 and I can't wait to see this cast bring to life even more monumental moments from the books.
