"Orange Is The New Black" Is Officially Over — Here's What Happened To Your Favorite Characters

"So this is it, huh? The band is broken up."

It's the end of an era for Netflix — after seven incredible, emotional, and groundbreaking seasons, Orange Is the New Black just came to an end.

Here's what happened to some of our favorite characters at the end of the series:

1. Piper Chapman

Netflix

After spending the final season dealing with life outside of prison, Piper finally "gets clean." She finishes her probation, gets a job at Starbucks, and goes back to school to study civil procedure. During Season 6, Piper and Alex got married, but they struggled during the final season. In the end, Piper visits Alex in prison and the two are still together. We love a happy ending!

2. Alex Vause

After getting transferred to a prison in Ohio, Alex ends up reuniting with some familiar faces (more on that later). As we said above, she's still happily married to Piper and I truly can't stop smiling about it.

3. Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson

Netflix

During Season 6, Taystee was falsely convicted of killing Piscatella, so she spent a majority of the final season coming to terms with her conviction and deciding whether or not to attempt to kill herself. After helping other inmates realize their full potential, she decides to make the most of her life sentence by starting the Poussey Washington Fund and establishing a financial literacy course for soon-to-be-released inmates.

4. Galina "Red" Reznikov

The final season was heartbreaking for Red. Our favorite cook developed early-onset dementia after spending a long period of time in solitary. Despite Nicky wanting to take care of her, Red is moved to B-block aka "Florida" to spend the rest of her time in prison.

5. Lorna Morello

Netflix

During Season 7, Lorna's premature baby boy dies of pneumonia, causing her to enter a state of total denial. Unable to deal with the severity of Lorna's mental illness, Nicky sadly has Lorna moved to B-block, where she's looked after by Red.

6. Nicky Nichols

Netflix

After being unable to help both Red and Lorna, Nicky basically loses everyone in her life. To honor Red's legacy, Nicky ends up overseeing the kitchen crew at the ICE detention center. It's like what Red said during Season 5: "Every parent becomes the child sooner or later. But I didn't think it would happen so soon."

7. Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett

Netflix

Doggett spent most of Season 7 studying for the GED exam; however, when test day came, the proctor didn't allow her to have extra time even though she has a learning disability. Basically, Luschek forgot to submit her learning disability prior to the test. Thinking that she failed the test, Doggett ends up dying of a drug overdose. The most emotional part? She passed the exam.

8. Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren

Upset over Doggett's death, Suzanne gathers everyone in B-block for a memorial service. Uzo Aduba finally gets to use her Broadway skills as Suzanne sings Doggett's favorite song, the 1982 Mountain Dew jingle. Also, Suzanne ends up helping Taystee with the Poussey Washington Fund.

9. Maritza Ramos

Maritza returned in Season 7 only to be taken by ICE during a raid at a bar while on parole. While at the detention center, she reunites with Flaca after being separated in Season 5. Sadly, Maritza ends up learning that she's not a US citizen. Despite everyone's best efforts to help her, Maritza is heartbreakingly deported back to Colombia.

10. Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales

Netflix

After watching Maritza get deported, Flaca continues to help other people detained by ICE. Using her role in the kitchen, she tries to get people in touch with their loved ones and lawyers.

11. Dayanara "Daya" Diaz

Netflix

Arguably undergoing the biggest character change since Season 1, Daya never returns to the happy artist we met back then. She becomes a ruthless drug dealer while she serves her life sentence for shooting Humphrey. Daya goes head-to-head with Aleida, who ends up strangling Daya. So Daya's fate is kind of left up in the air at the end of OITNB.

12. Aleida Diaz

Netflix

During Season 7, Aleida ends up violating her parole when she attacks her daughter's drug-dealing boyfriend. She ends up back at Litchfield Max only to find out Daya is trying to corner the market on drugs. Upset that Daya has dragged her sisters into this mess, Aleida ends the series by strangling Daya (to death?).

13. Cindy "Black Cindy" Hayes

After incriminating Taystee in Piscatella's death in order to save herself, Cindy carries out the rest of her prison sentence basically alone. Cindy is eventually released and everything goes smoothly until a vengeful Taystee sends a letter to Monica revealing that Cindy is actually her mom, not her sister. At the end of the series, Cindy ends up living on the streets until she is able to reconcile with her family and they attempt to move forward.

14. Karla Córdova

Karla is a new — but incredibly important — character in Season 7. She befriends Blanca while at the ICE detention center. Despite her best efforts to stay in the US and return to her two sons, Karla is deported. OITNB ends with Karla trying to re-enter the US; however, she is left in the desert after injuring her ankle.

15. Blanca Flores

Netflix

After ending up at the ICE detention center, Blanca fights to not be deported. With the help of Karla, she successfully argues to have her recent criminal case retried because she didn't know that she would lose her green card. Blanca successfully wins her criminal case and becomes a permanent US resident; however, she chooses to go to Honduras to be with her boyfriend, Diablo, who was deported.

16. Joel Luschek

Netflix

Luschek finally takes responsibility for his actions during the series finale and honestly, thank god. After Gloria is caught with a phone, Luschek comes clean about being the one to smuggle phones into Litchfield. He also says that he made Gloria sell contraband at the ICE detention center, so her sentence isn't extended. Of course he ends up getting fired from Litchfield.

17. Gloria Mendoza

After Luschek confesses and gets Gloria's extended sentence reversed, she is released from prison. She FINALLY reunites with her family and it's a happy ending.

18. Maria Ruiz

Netflix

Maria reconciles with Gloria after everything that went down with the riot in Season 5. Maria ends OITNB by reading to her daughter, Pepa, and allowing her boyfriend, Yadriel, to move on with a new girlfriend.

19. Sophia Burset

Netflix

During Season 7, Piper runs into Sophia while visiting her parole officer. After prison, Sophia opened her own hair salon and is doing well.

20. Joe Caputo and Natalie "Fig" Figueroa

Netflix

During Season 7, Caputo is accused of sexual harassment by former CO Susan Fischer and steps down from teaching classes at Litchfield after accepting his past mistakes. Meanwhile, Fig works at the ICE detention center and tries to do her part to change what's happening to the people there. Caputo and Fig end the series by deciding to adopt a child, meeting a little girl named Vanessa at an adoption agency.

21. Sam Healy

Netflix

After leaving Litchfield, Sam ends up working at a smoothie shop. Caputo visits him while dealing with the sexual harassment accusations against him.

22. Larry Bloom and Polly Harper

Netflix

Larry, Piper's ex-fiancé, and Polly, Piper's former BFF, are still together and are expecting a child together. Larry tries to tell Piper to forget about Alex and start over, which of course doesn't work.

23. Linda Ferguson

Netflix

Linda continues to be a horrible human being in Season 7, so at least some things never change. She's instrumental in the horrible conditions at the ICE detention center and she basically hated that the Litchfield inmates were becoming better people.

24. Tamika Ward

Netflix

Taystee's BFF becomes warden of Litchfield during the final season and makes some instrumental changes. While her heart is in the right place, she's ultimately fired because she can't keep the guards in check. Tamika promises to continue checking up on Taystee.

25. Greg Hellman

Netflix

After spending Season 7 continuing to sell drugs in prison and extort inmates, Hellman becomes warden after Tamika is fired.

26. Artesian McCullough

Netflix

During Season 7, McCullough sells battery phone chargers to inmates with the help of Alex. While spending a lot of time together, McCullough falls in love with Alex. She ends up being the one to request Alex's transfer to Ohio because she can't bear to work at Litchfield and not be with Alex.

27. Rick Hopper

Netflix

Hopper's misdeeds finally catch up with him when he's fired as head guard after he's caught having sex with Aleida. While he's not at Litchfield anymore, he's still taking care of Aleida's kids while she's in prison.

28. Frieda Berlin

Netflix

After betraying Red during Season 6 during the riot investigations, Frieda mostly keeps to herself during the final season. She's doing perfectly fine collecting trash until Red is moved to B-block. At first, Red's dementia causes her to not remember Frieda, but Red ends up having a lucid moment and remembers everything.

29. Irene "Zirconia" Cabrera

With the help of Taystee, Irene passes the GED exam. She's also one of the first recipients of a microloan from the Poussey Washington Fund and will be released from prison soon.

30. Lolly Whitehill

Netflix

Lolly arrives in B-block after Litchfield's psych unit is shut down. She ends up becoming friends with Suzanne and the duo takes care of the chickens.

31. Judy King

Netflix

Judy ends up writing a book, which includes an account of her time at Litchfield. Taystee calls Judy and asks if she would like to help start the Poussey Washington Fund and the financial literacy program. Judy happily accepts.

32. Mei Chang

Netflix

In the series finale, Mei is seen arriving at the ICE detention center.

33. Leanne Taylor, Angie Rice, Janae Watson, Alison Abdullah, Kasey Sankey, and Brook Soso

During the final episode, we see all of them still in prison in Ohio. This is the first time we've seen these characters since they were transferred from Litchfield following the Season 5 riot.

34. Big Boo, Anita DeMarco, Norma Romano, and Gina Murphy

During the final episode, we see all of them still in prison in Ohio. They've welcomed Alex into their family with open arms following her transfer. This is also the first time we've seen these characters since they were transferred from Litchfield following the Season 5 riot.

35. Erica "Yoga" Jones

She's still in prison in Ohio with the rest of her friends, but she welcomes a new inmate in the same way she welcomed Piper in the first episode.

36. George "Pornstache" Mendez

Netflix

During Season 5, Pornstache's mom ended up adopting Daya and Bennett's daughter after Daya lied and said Pornstache was the father. In the series finale, we see him playing with his daughter for the first time. We also NEVER know what happened to Bennett.

37. And finally, the magic chicken

The mythical and magical chicken from Season 1 returned during the final season. Suzanne started with 12 chickens and then suddenly had 13. Before this only Piper and Caputo had seen the chicken.
