One of my favorite things about Legacies is that even though The Vampire Diaries has ended, its characters have managed to live on in this new series.
And since the spinoff premiered, the writers have been great about including little details and Easter eggs from TVD, and the latest episode had an amazing shoutout to Damon Salvatore.
During the episode, Lizzie Saltzman and her current love interest, Sebastian, headed off on a road trip in order to convince Landon to return to the Salvatore School for the Young and the Gifted.
Sebastian, a recently revived 600-year-old vampire, was fascinated by the "modern machinery" of the car.
And that's when Lizzie dropped the ultimate Easter egg. The car was actually a sweet 16 gift for her and Josie from Damon Salvatore.
If you remember, Damon's beloved car showed up a lot on The Vampire Diaries, and one of the first times we saw it was when Damon and Elena road tripped to Georgia in Season 1.
And during Season 6, Stefan rebuilt the car as a Christmas present for Damon after it was destroyed.
Not only do I love that Damon's car still lives on, but I'm obsessed with the fact that Damon and Alaric have remained good friends and Damon is in Lizzie and Josie's lives.
The other potential TVD detail involving Damon's car was that fans were quick to point out that Lizzie and Sebastian's budding romance mirrors Caroline and Klaus', right down to the sexual tension-fueled road trip.

Basically, I'm so here for Damon's car returning to the TVD universe, but also this generation's Klaus and Caroline.
