This apology language is the expressions of personal remorse toward your wrongdoings. This one is pretty standard, often led by a simple, "I'm sorry," but even those two words on their own can make a world of difference.

Expressing Regret

Many of us are able to take responsibility for a our actions to some degree, but this particular apology language is when one immediately takes ownership for whatever mishap they might've caused. This one is for the kind of strong people who aren't afraid to take the blame.

Accepting Responsibility

Genuine repentance is seen when someone makes a mistake, and then tries to correct their behavior. It's the ol' "I promise I'll change for the better" principle. And hey, sometimes that really is the right thing to say. This apology language is for those who believe actions speak louder than words.

Genuinely Repenting

The "Making Restitution" apology language is the mirror image of the "Gifts/Acts of Service" love language. It stems from the phrase, "Let me make things right." Making restitution comes in the form of replacing something you damaged, or gift-giving to regain favor. While some people may see this as a bribe, those with this apology method see it as a truly touching gesture.

This apology language shifts the emotional burden, and emotional power, onto the person who was wronged. It's as simple as asking for forgiveness in order to find peace and/or closure with whatever situation you may have put yourself in.
