Stray Finds Forever Home, Becomes Bulldog Royalty

Vincent the bulldog won the 37th annual Most Beautiful Bulldog Contest at Drake University, making him canine royalty. That's pretty good for a pup who nine months ago was wandering the streets.

Meet Vincent. Nine months ago he was wandering the streets of West Des Moines, abandoned. After finding his forever home, owners Meredith and Chad Green entered him in the Beautiful Bulldog contest—a 37-year-old tradition—and he won!

He showed up pretty relaxed in this Hawaiian shirt.

Vincent had to beat 44 other English Bulldogs for the title. Including this purple fairy.

This farmer used his smile to harvest votes from the judges.

This butterfly was blinded by her own beauty.

This peacock may look bored, but she was ruffling her feathers against the competition.

As you can see, this contest involves a lot of tutus. Even painted nails.

She may look like a shrinking Violet, but this flower didn't wilt against the competition.

One dog was named Fat Amy. Don't let the name fool you, she was quite fit.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?! This Roman gladiator came in a Trojan Horse. Literally.

This sweet face belongs to Delilyah. She missed the contest last year because she was busy giving birth to four puppies—three of whom competed against her this year.

Let's get back to Vincent. Here he is eating his victory cake.

The vote was unanimous by all 6 judges, including the President of Drake University, Marty Martin.
