We Tried Sticker Makeup And It Was Trash

You should ~stick~ to regular makeup.

Hey guys, it's Nina, Lara, and Claire here. We all like to experiment with makeup, but it can be hard and time-consuming. So we thought we'd try to cheat by using stick-on makeup instead of, you know, putting in effort.

We decided to try stick-on eyeliner, stick-on lipstick, and temporary tattoo eyebrows to achieve that perfect and precise makeup look!

    Lara tried a lipstick sticker.

What the product is supposed to do: According to the website, these are a "long-lasting and easy to apply" lipstick appliques. You're supposed to press them to your lips and rub with water until the paper backing comes off. It should leave you with magenta-colored lips with text that says "BDAY GIRL" (for reasons unknown).

Lara's thoughts: Honestly, I don't really "do" my lips, I kind of just throw on some tinted lip gloss and go about my day. So it's really, really easy. I thought this would also be easy. I was wrong. I thought the lip stuff would be more sticky and kind of leave a pretty residue behind without being messy. It was weird? It was like applying a temporary tattoo... but, on my lips? And it kept falling off no matter how wet I got it. I think it would take me at least 10 times to perfect this if not more. It didn't look good. Mostly because it didn't even work. It was messy and runny and made my lips feel gross. It felt like I had chapped lips and they were peeling off slowly. ALSO IT SAID "BDAY GIRL" and it wasn't even my birthday.

    Lara's rating: 0.5/5

Trying to apply them took so much concentration and no matter how much I wet the paper, it didn't stick. IT DIDN'T STICK.

    Ban these stickers.

The end result was sad, to say the least. There was leftover paper on my lips and it didn't look cute. It wasn't even close to being cute. Mainly it was just sad. JUST USE TINTED CHAPSTICK!!

The B-Day Girl lips also come in a red option, if that's what you're into.

    Nina tried eyeliner stickers.

What the product is supposed to do: This eyeliner is literally a sticker. You peel it off the backing with a tweezer and press them down on your eye in the desired location — then voilà! A perfect cat eye.

Nina's thoughts: I wear cat eyeliner pretty much every day. I've gotten better at it, but still, it usually takes me 5–10 minutes to fully perfect it. I thought using these stickers would save me some time and ensure that my wings would be even, but that was naive. I was so wrong. These stickers are TRASH. They didn't do the one thing they're supposed to do, which is STICK ON. The wing looks decent in the photo only because it's not actually attached to my skin. If it was stuck down it'd be way shorter. And the lid part of the sticker was too light on me, so I had to try to cover it up with shadow, which was an even bigger fail. Maybe I shouldn't have bought cheap-o ones from Amazon, but then again, why would I spend more on these than eyeliner?

    Nina's rating: 0/5

Seriously, this was after holding it down for like five full minutes. And this was only my second pair. I ended up going through FOUR!

Don't waste your money on these, they are not worth it. I'm going back to doing my own damn eyeliner.

    Claire tried eyebrow stickers.

What the product is supposed to do: These eyebrow stickers are like a temporary tattoo. You hold the sticker over your brow and press down on it with a damp cloth until the fake eyebrow transfers onto your skin.

Claire's thoughts: My eyebrows are sparse and sad. I fill in my eyebrows with a blond eyebrow pencil EVERY DAY without fail. As soon as I saw the color of these I knew I was in trouble but I figured the actual application process would be easy, sort of like a fake tattoo. I underestimated how tricky putting these on would be, and they never turned out the same. These looked terrible, but I think it's mostly because these are the wrong shape and color. If they were lighter and had a less villainous arch I might give these another go. I'm positive these were made for people who don't have eyebrows. A few people in the office told me that from far away they actually didn't look bad! It's only when you get up close that you realize how off they are. Our style editor, Chrissy, audibly gasped, and not in a good way.

    Claire's rating: 3/5

If I didn't have eyebrows, I would consider using these, but would definitely look for a shape and color that suits me more.

It’s safe to say my first attempt was a disaster. I now know what my evil twin would look like if I had an evil twin.

If you'd like to try these, there are multiple color options available.
