You love stories of happy families getting cute new pets...and this film technically does have that. It also has some incredible kills, a plague of angry evil Gremlins, and some great scares! You like your horror on the familiar side, something you've seen before, and this movie is the ultimate horror comfort flick. Happy watching!

Christmas is nothing without a great big dysfunctional family coming together to hide from an ancient Christmas demon, am I right? You love the rituals and traditions of Christmas, from the drunk aunt snoring in the armchair to your super outspoken uncle yelling at everyone over the feast. This wild, creative, and kind of heartwarming Christmas movie hits you right in those festive, frightening feels!

Anyone else think this remake is so totally fetch?! _Black Christmas_ is the most stylish addition to this list, as the second remake of the original has a ton of familiar famous females taking on the stalker of their home. With its backdrop of flickering Christmas lists, dark corridors, and bitchy betrayals, this is a great twisted thriller with a true festive feel!

This Australian horror movie puts a spin on the evil babysitter trope and turns a night of festive fun into a creepy plot of twisted teen tyranny. If you're into messed up reference humor, gory kills, and genuine scares, it's definitely time for _Better Watch Out_!

Yes okay, this film is the subject of so much Halloween/Christmas debate that we were nervous to include it here — but if you like your festive spooks on the slightly softer side, this is the movie for you. A weirdly wonderful Tim Burton animation of monstrous creatures discovering Christmas for the first time — what could possibly go wrong?

_The Nightmare Before Christmas_ (1993)

It does what it says on the tin — in _Santa's Slay_, Santa literally slays. This 2005 movie is a great silly slasher, starring an ex-pro wrestler as the vicious Santa-gone-wrong. Some fun, festive-themed kills await you in this gory horror, as well as a pretty sweet appearance from Rudolph the Hell-Beast too.

No, not the one about a kid losing his dad in a car crash. This is the other one — the horrifying one. If you love a messed up murderer turned snowman, you'll love this late '90s flick. Plus, if you've ever wondered about the best way to kill an undead evil snowman, this film offers plenty of tips for that, too! Enjoy!

A modern merry horror with a Santa killer in sunglasses? Yes please! This eerie 2012 movie is perfect for those with a love of great gory kills, perfect comedic timing, and a killer who just doesn't care who or what he destroys. A twisted addition to any cozy Christmas night in!
