Immigrant X Just Put Out A Comic Strip And It's Awesome

Immigrant X, the loose collective of artists that uses social media to tell fictional stories about undocumented immigrants and their underground supporters, just started working on a graphic novel. Illustrator Ana Patankar did the drawings and they kick ass.

From the people who brought you the Stop-And-Search App, comes Raid Interrupted, a graphic novel about a group of underground activists who warn undocumented immigrants of raids by the Border Patrol.

The fictional story takes place in an unnamed Western democracy, sometime in the recent past, or in the near future — or maybe even today. It centers around three radical activists who use their contacts within the immigration system to figure out the location of raids in advance. They then rush to warn undocumented families before immigration authorities can arrest them.

The stories, of Immigrant X, it bears repeating, are fictional. But they could be real.
