8 Perfectly Acceptable Reactions To Filing Your Campaign Finance Reports

The summer's full of compliance deadlines and a lot of emotion. If you're a fundraising professional, it...can get real.

So you hunker down in the office, coffee in place, ready to pull some numbers and get that filing in on time.

But as you get ready to rock, you hit a snag when you realize you've forgotten your filing password hours before the deadline.

Okay. So after a little soul-searching and a lot of desk-searching, you found the sticky note with your filing password. PHEW. You get to work, and now it's 11:30 PM and you check the screen and...you have 100 major errors.

Realizing your mental math isn't what it used to be, you reach for your calculator...but it's broken. And no one is willing to share.

You're trying to keep it together amidst all this, but an intern chooses this time (of all times) to ask you if they need to put expenses on a report. You take a deep breath and exercise self-control.

This day can't get any worse, so you go to the one coffee shop that's open late for an ice cold pick-me-up. Only, they're out of ice.

Back at the office, full of despair, you preview your FEC report and...the numbers match your bank reconciliation!!! Time to upload!

Despite every possible challenge in the world, you have done the impossible by finishing early. Now on to that long awaited nap...

But it's all worth it when you wake up the next (same?) morning, see your opponent's numbers, and realize YOU TOTALLY OUTRAISED THEM.
