Transit Van Barrels Into Stopped Cars On Busy Highway in Dallas
On a highway in Dallas, a white Dallas Transit van pushed right through cars, tossing them every which way. The impact caused a chain reaction involving five cars. Two people were injured.
According to WFAA-TV, Dallas Area Rapid Transit said the accident was a result "of the van operator failing to slow with traffic."
The driver is on paid administrative leave as police investigate the crash.
Rosa Sepulveda, a mother of one of the victims in the crash told WFAA she hopes with this video released, drivers will pay closer attention on the road. Her son broke his hip, arm, leg and 11 ribs. He remains in the intensive care unit at Parkland Hospital.
"I was upset and angry because [the DART driver] never tried to stop," the mother said. "He never paid attention, and I'm still asking why can he drive and not pay attention."
