Tennessee Should Be Known For These Things, Not Abortion

As a result of a ruling in 2000 by the TN Supreme Court, Tennessee now boasts a broader right to abortion than that recognized by Roe v. Wade. The ruling stands as a major roadblock to enactment of many meaningful protections for the unborn and their mothers. For that reason, TN has become an abortion destination for neighboring states. This should not be Tennessee's legacy.

Tennessee should NOT be known for abortion.

Tennessee should not be known as an abortion destination. Currently 1 in 4 abortions in Tennessee is performed on an out-of-state woman. Abortions on out-of-state women have increased by 30% over the last decade.

This November, Tennesseans will have the chance to vote for Amendment 1 to clarify that the State Constitution does not include a "right" to an abortion. Amendment 1's passage would allow Tennesseans and their elected lawmakers to enact protections for unborn children and their mothers.
