Meet Your New Pro-Life Senators

2014 turned out to be a great year for pro-life candidates! Get to know the newest crop of pro-life leaders headed to the Senate.

1. Iowa: Joni Ernst

"Joni believes life begins at conception, that all innocent life is precious, and that we must cherish and protect the unborn."

Ernst served in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Ernst has served a combined 21 years in the United States Army Reserves and the Iowa Army National Guard.

She is also the first woman ever elected to Congress from Iowa!

2. Colorado: Cory Gardner

Previously, Gardner served in the U.S. House of Representatives where he earned a 100% pro-life rating from National Right to Life.

His opponent Mark Udall made attacking Gardner's pro-life stance the central focus of his campaign.

Mark Udall's never-ending "war on women" attacks earned him the nickname "Mark Uterus" on the campaign trail.

3. Arkansas: Tom Cotton

"As a U.S. Senator, I will stand up to protect life and will fight to ensure that Arkansans never see their hard-earned tax dollars spent on abortions.”

Tom Cotton served almost five years as an active duty Infantry Officer and completed combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

The tragic attacks of September 11, 2001 occurred during Tom’s final year of law school, and he began to reconsider his future plans. He ultimately left law after clerking for the U.S. Court of Appeals and short time in a private law practice to join the United States Army.

4. Montana: Steve Daines

Daines served as the at-large Congressman for Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives where he earned a 100% pro-life rating from National Right to Life.

Daines defeated a radical pro-abortion candidate endorsed by EMILY's List.

Daines' opponent Amanda Curtis supported a policy of abortion on demand for any reason.

Daines won by double digits and flipped a Senate seat!

5. South Dakota: Mike Rounds

A husband, father and grandfather - first and foremost, Mike is a business owner, former state senator and two-term governor.

Rounds defeated two pro-abortion opponents to flip the Senate seat in South Dakota!

6. North Carolina: Thom Tillis

Under his leadership as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, the legislature passed a number of measures protecting unborn children and their mothers .

Despite being written off by many pundits, Tillis managed to eke out a win over pro-abortion incumbent Kay Hagan.

The CEO of the nation's largest abortion provider had personally campaigned against him calling the race their "number one priority."

7. West Virginia: Shelley Moore Capito

Capito, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives, earned a 100% pro-life rating in the previous Congress. She voted to protect pain-capable unborn babies from late abortions and to protect taxpayers from funding abortions.

Capito defeated a radical pro-abortion opponent endorsed by EMILY's List.

8. Georgia: David Perdue.

Prior to running for Senate, Perdue served as the CEO of Reebok and Dollar General.

9. Oklahoma: James Lankford

Lankford earned a 100% pro-life rating from National Right to Life in the House. He won a special election to serve Oklahoma in the U.S. Senate.

10. Nebraska: Ben Sasse

Sasse served as president of Midland University. At the age of 37, he became one of the youngest chief executives in American higher education when he took over leadership of the 128-year-old institution in the spring of 2010.

11. Alaska: Dan Sullivan

Sullivan was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as Alaska Attorney General prior to running for Senate.

Sullivan won a hard fought race in Alaska to defeat pro-abortion incumbent Mark Begich.

12. Then there's the runoff in Louisiana. We're backing pro-life Rep. Bill Cassidy against incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu.
