Shazam! star Zachary Levi has come under criticism for seemingly posting anti-COVID-19 vaccination content on Twitter.
This weekend, Zachary quote-tweeted an account that routinely posts fear-mongering vaccine misinformation that said, "Do you agree or not, that Pfizer is a real danger to the world?" Zachary replied with, "Hardcore agree."
He then tweeted a link to a 2009 statement from the Department of Justice announcing that Pfizer had to pay $2.3 Billion in a settlement for fraudulent marketing over misbranding inflammatory drug Bextra.
Now, if we're being generous, Pfizer has recently come under criticism for saying it plans to increase the price of its COVID-19 vaccine. However, it's worth reiterating that the vaccines are safe and effective.
As Zachary's name began to trend on Twitter, some brought up a clip of him appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience last summer where the actor praises Jordan Peterson and does not speak up as Joe deadnames and misgenders Elliot Page. Indeed, it's not the first time Zachary has faced criticism for his social media posts.
The timing of all this is especially notable given that the new trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods dropped two days ago and is due to be released on March 17.
We'll keep you posted if Zachary...keeps tweeting.
