Have you ever made a joke that you thought was hilarious, but it got a little…outta hand?
Well, imagine that on a MARVEL UNIVERSE-sized scale, and you have Paul Bettany’s situation.
How so? Well, on the Lights Camera Barstool podcast in January, Paul teased that a massive Marvel character would be coming on Wandavision: "I work with this actor that I’ve always wanted to work with, and we have fireworks together, the scenes are great, and I think people are going to be really excited."
"I’ve always wanted to work with this guy, and the scenes are pretty intense!"
The fan theories went into overdrive! Who was this massive cameo? Was it Doctor Strange? The devil himself??? Well, if you're also confused, do not worry...
...Because Paul was talking about himself.
Paul told Good Morning America, "You know when you think something's gonna be funny and then you say it and you actually panic about it? Which is what I did because fans started guessing who it might be, and they were guessing Benedict Cumberbatch or Patrick Stewart."
"I was thinking, God, that's a good idea — and they're gonna be so disappointed when they find out it's me!"
