She's Not Your Punching Bag

While men think that hitting women is a power move that shows their dominance , what they don't think about is the fact that why do these women continue to bear this cycle of abuse. In light of the proposed new laws in Pakistan that aim to support abuse and the widespread cases of domestic abuse all around the world , this is my take on this issue.

It's never okay to hit a woman

Why must you hurt her in order to show your power

Why this desperate need to show everyone who is in charge

She's a human being , not a punching bag

Just because she doesn't hit back , it doesn't mean she cant

Something is holding her back

Maybe it's the fear of you hurting her children in return

Or Maybe she's still holding on to the possibility of you changing your filthy ways

Maybe it's because she'd rather be your punching bag than lose you altogether

Or maybe it's because she loves you way too much to hurt you

But this is what you don't get

Abusing her won't make you strong

All that makes you is a coward

You hit her in order to weaken her spirits

But she gets back up each time , stronger than ever

So ask yourself , who is the stronger one here ?

And just know , That one day she'll fight back

With all that she's got

Maybe tomorrow , or maybe a month from today

All those scars you gave her will turn into battle wounds

And you'll finally understand her true power
