Majorca is beautiful, warm, and most importantly – flights there from London start at £25 per person. You can find an affordable, full-board hotel and have a perfect, thrifty week soaking up the rays on one of Majorca's perfect beaches.

Iceland is getting more and more affordable to travel to with flights from London starting at £68. Once you arrive, you can save money by renting a car with friends and exploring the island that way – there is basically one main road that takes you all around the country.

Flights aren't cheap to Thailand, starting from £200, but once you arrive you can definitely save as services, food, and travel are all much cheaper. Book your trip so that it happens before May and you can be one of the very last people to visit Koh Phi Phi, the iconic beach – it'll be shut off for tourists soon to help preserve it. Visit the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai; it's ethically managed and you'll be allowed to feed and wash the elephants, and you can be sure that they're happy and well looked after.

Australia is one of the most furthermost places you could visit, and it's expensive to boot – you can expect to spend between £500-700 on average for a return flight to Sydney from London. But it will be an unforgettable place to visit – go in November, before it gets too hot, and visit the perfect beaches on the Gold Coast, the beautiful Great Barrier Reef, and the metropolitan centers of Sydney and Melbourne. Expect to spend a lot on travel within the country, as most places can only be reached by plane – it's a continent, island, and country all in one, after all.
