The app is called Shopback, and I genuinely think that every single Aussie should know about it, use it and tell their friends about it.
To give you the low down, here's now it works: Shopback is an affiliate marketing business that has deals with online retailers — like The Iconic, Wotif and eBay — so that whenever Shopback sends consumers to these sites and they make a purchase, Shopback receives a commission from the retailer.
As opposed to keeping all those commission dollarydoos for themselves, Shopback actually gives some of that commission back to the person that made the purchase — i.e. you, me and the girl down the street.
To get that sweet, sweet cash back, all you have to do is sign up for a free Shopback account, download the Shopback app and/or Chrome extension and start browsing. You'll also receive a cheeky $20 bonus while you’re at it. Yep, for doing nothing at all.
Once you've made an eligible purchase through Shopback, you'll get a notification for how much money you'll be getting back, which will sit pretty in your Shopback wallet.
When you want to withdraw money from your Shopback account, you can request a withdrawal on your available funds and it'll get transferred to your bank account within 3-5 business days.
FYI, there is a waiting period for some of your money to be made available to withdraw, which again depends on the transaction you've made. For example, if you book holiday accommodation through Wotif or Booking.com, you might not be able to withdraw your cash back until after you've actually taken your holiday.
