    Great American Craft Beer Tour

Nashville needs is another overpriced beer festival. Well, this one isn’t in Nashville, it is in Woodbury. Where is Woodbury, you may ask? Well, it’s about twenty minutes east of Murfreesboro. So why Woodbury then? Woodbury is a beautiful little town in the Cumberland Plateau. State parks with amazing hiking are nearby and the drive in is spectacular. It is also the home of Short Mountain Distillery, at 119 Mountain Spirits Lane.

O.K., the last thing Nashville needs is another overpriced beer festival. Well, this one isn't in Nashville, it is in Woodbury. Where is Woodbury, you may ask? Well, it's about twenty minutes east of Murfreesboro. So why Woodbury then?

Woodbury is a beautiful little town in the Cumberland Plateau. State parks with amazing hiking are nearby, and the drive in is spectacular. It is also the home of Short Mountain Distillery, at 119 Mountain Spirits Lane. Why post the address? (There are a lot of questions in this post). The beer festival is being held on the property of the Short Mountain Distillery. It will be right in the middle of their three hundred acres of beautiful, rolling countryside.

The beer festival will also be right in the middle of the Music in the Middle Modern Arts Festival. This festival runs October fourth through the sixth, with the beer festival being held Saturday afternoon on the fifth. "We believe that the Music in the Middle Fest will be the one festival that stands above the others in guest interaction," said Cameron Sloan, president of Neon Stanza, host of the event.

Cameron, with his business partner Stephen Masterson, have been working on this concept for years. They wanted a multiple day event that specifically featured and highlighted all that is great about Tennessee. Some of the venues they considered were a bit more local, but the Short Mountain Distillery location will really allow Tennessee talent to be on display in an idyllic setting.

This has been referred to as a mini-Bonnaroo, which is no exaggeration. It will likely be a full blown Bonnaroo before too long. The property is stunning and the music lineup is inspired. The impressive list of over fifty local bands features the always popular Space Capone, as well as Beyond the Brave, Delta Saints, the Black Cadillacs, Dead Martinis, the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, and more.

The national featured acts have an international flair. The 1975 from England join Aeroplane from Belgium. Also appearing is Hockey, Late Night Alumni, and Viceroy. Ryan Ross from Panic at the Disco will be appearing, and Julian Casablancas from the Strokes will have his side project Color on stage.
