"I no longer want to be careless."

Nick Cannon has made another attempt to set the record straight about the reality of his big, happy family.

The 42-year-old host of The Masked Singer has 12 kids with six women — and said that his younger self wouldn't have ever expected this to happen.

"As much as I was open to every single child that I have, I can't say the majority of them were planned," Nick revealed on a recent episode of the podcast The Language of Love with Dr. Laura Berman. "If you would have told me in 2012 when I was still married and just diagnosed with Lupus that 10 years from now, that I would have 12 children, I'd be like there is no way in the world that I would ever plan that or that would happen."

Nick even claimed he considers fathering a dozen children part of a higher purpose, saying, "It's almost like when you have these manifestations or visions, if that's what you want to call them, it's like 'Oh, that all makes sense now.'"

He laid out everything he's heard that led him to this conclusion, including comments such as, "'You're going to be a father of many. You're a great influence. Your lineage, your offspring, are going to do great things.' I've had that. And I'm like, 'the more the merrier,' we roll the dice to the name and what you will build."

Ultimately, he's searching to become more responsible with his time and more "intentional with life" and his relationship with his children because, on the outside, it may appear reckless. "I no longer want to be careless," he said.

"I want to be a lot more intentional with life, especially when dealing with creating life, because I love all my children but I probably wasn't intentional. I was like, 'Oh if it happens, amazing, God's miracles.'"

With this declaration, the Wild 'n Out host is aware of his setbacks. "Now I have 12, so no matter how much money you make, you can't buy time," Nick said. "I want to be intentional in all of their lives currently, and I don't want to spread anyone else any thinner than they already are."

Despite his good intentions, Nick did admit that it's no simple task to spend time with every single child equally. On the Jason Lee podcast, he was honest that the child he spends the most time with is his "beautiful daughter Onyx" whom he shares with LaNisha Cole.

Nick shares twins Moroccan and Monroe, 12, with Mariah Carey.

He also has two-year-old twin sons, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, and a seven-month-old daughter, Beautiful Zeppelin, with Abby De La Rosa.

With Alyssa Scott, Nick shares Halo Marie Cannon, six months. They're also parents to Zen Cannon, who died in 2021 at five months from brain cancer.

And with Selling Sunset's Bre Tiesi, he shares 11-month-old Legendary Love.

We'll keep you updated really, really soon if he jumps on another podcast to overshare about his family life.
