    Lupita Nyong'o announced her breakup with a heartfelt message, and everyone is throwing their support behind her.

    On her Instagram stories, Lupita, 40, alluded to a "season of heartbreak," which might be about her relationship with TV host Selema Masekela, 52.

    In Dec. 2022, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor seemingly confirmed her relationship with Selema when the pair joined in a popular Instagram trend where they snapped their fingers to "The King's Affirmation" by Iniko and Reuel Williams as they changed outfits.

    This announcement arrived a day after she was spotted hanging out with Joshua Jackson and friends at the Los Angeles stop of Janelle Monáe's The Age of Pleasure tour.

    In the post, Lupita described how she wanted to "run into the shadows and hide" but instead chose to "keep it 💯," and shared the news that it might help someone else experiencing heartbreak.

    "There are much more important things going on in the world right now, and my thoughts are with those who are deeply suffering," Lupita began.

    "I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception. I am tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when I have regained my strength enough for me to say, 'Whatever, my life is better this way.'"

    She continued that she's reminded that "the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love," and she's facing "the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass. The promise, they say, is that a tender heart is what gives birth to fearlessness. I hope it's true…"
