On-Campus Job Spotlight

    MSU's RHS Division (Residential and Hospitality Services) employs thousands of students every year. Students who work on campus have flexible schedules, no commute, and tend to have higher GPAs than students who don't work or work off campus. Here are just a few student positions that MSU offers.

    Food Service Assistant

    Working at any of MSU's dining halls as a Food Service Assistant is a great way to make a extra money while working right at home. Food Service Assistants can expect to cook, serve food, and practice sustainability.

    Fun fact: All major cafeterias on campus practice sustainability in the dish room by recycling waste and reducing energy.

    LiveOn Street Team Member

    The goal of the LiveOn Street Team is to bring campus together, whether it's through on-campus events or through the creation of online content. It's all about showing MSU students what campus has to offer.

    Forest Akers Range Attendant

    Range Attendants at Forest Akers, Michigan State's own golf course, keep the driving range in clean, working order. Attendants can be expected to pick up and clean golf balls, as well as maintain course facilities.

    RHS Information Services, Communications Assistant

    Communications Assistants make use of their creative talents to produce content for their respective departments. Applicants are expected to have interest and experience in marketing, media, and publication.

    Facilities Building Worker

    As a facilities staff member, your job is to keep on-campus residence halls clean and orderly. Facilities staff are also responsible for setting up for events held in on-campus buildings.

    Technical Support

    Tech Support students help professional staff in diagnosing hardware and software issues they may be experiencing, as well as providing upgrades and repairs.

    Spartan Spirit Shop Retail Attendant

    Like many retail jobs, attendants at the Spartan Spirit Shop (located in the MSU Union) greet customers and answer any questions that they may have.

    Banquet Server

    Several times throughout the year, the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center holds special events. As a banquet server, you will assist in setting up for and serving during these events.

    Sparty's Staff

    Sparty's, MSU's own chain of on-campus convenience stores, offers student employment at each of its locations. Duties include cash register operation, stocking, and food preparation.
